A message from Kathleen Percival, St Peter and St Paul, Old Brampton

2008 will see the end of our close association with our fellow Christians who worship at St Mark’s and the Church of the Ascension, and the development or our new partnership in the MMA.

This association doesn’t mean that we form some kind of a ‘holy huddle’, but a power centre from which we can share in the ministry of our Churches, and reach out in Christian mission to the people in our parishes.

This is a time when our maturity will be put to the test.  We will need to spend time getting to know each other, discovering our strengths and weaknesses, and developing a mutually acceptable strategy for future years.

During the past few months, a variety of problems have challenged our
Government, and they have responded in such measure as they are able.  As Christians, we need to take on board responsibility to pray for our country, and in particular, for the area that God is entrusting to us.

As we re-group, in the next few months, it would be good to give priority to prayer, and to whatever that will lead to.

Let love be the glue that holds us together, and may God’s Holy Spirit breathe fresh life and energy into our new partnerships.
