A Final Word…..
It seems fitting that this last edition of ‘Together’ should span the last month of the old year and the first month of the new. Just as the turn of the year is both a solemn time and occasion for a party as we look forward to the new year, the passing of ‘Together’ is tinged with solemnity, but it is an occasion for looking forward with hope and
excitement as we develop its replacement.‘Together’ came into being because of the grouping of the parishes of Loundsley Green, St. Mark’s and Old
Brampton. Now that grouping has been superseded by the Ministry and Mission Areas, it no longer makes sense for the magazine to continue in its present form. That is no reason why we can’t celebrate what is has symbolised for these past years, and at the same time feel a little sad at its passing.
Just as the old year gives way to the new, so ‘Together’ is giving way to something else. There is already a monthly news sheet, called ‘The Centre’ containing news from St, Mary’s and All Saints. Holy Trinity/Christchurch, SS Augustine, The Church of the Ascension and St. Marks. We plan to build on that in order that everyone who reads the present magazine will continue to have news of our own parishes with the added interest of news of our
partners in the MMA.Thank you to all who have read ’Together’ so faithfully over the years, and to all who have contributed to it and
distributed it, not forgetting our advertisers. A big thank you to Martin who edits it—and makes sure it gets printed—a thank you to our printer as well. Between them they have never failed to get it out on time.Have a very happy Christmas, and may the joy of
