Church Fete

After a week of variable weather forecasts, Sunday 10th June dawned to a cloudy start. However, the rain kept well away and by mid afternoon the sun was shining brightly on the many people attending the fete to raise funds for Old Brampton Church.

Under gazebos, stalls held amazing arrays of goods for sale, including, cakes, plants, bric a bac, toiletries, books and cards.

There was opportunity to test your skills or luck at Hoopla, treasure hunt, tombola, netball and many other activities, and if you needed a rest or refreshment there were tempting sandwiches and cakes for sale in the refreshment area.

You could even have your face or nails painted, or just rest in the beautiful garden and listen to the music of Holymoorside Brass Band.

Well done to the young people who constructed mini gardens and scarecrows. The gardens were beautiful, and the scarecrows, well, scary!

Thanks go to the stallholders, the games organisers, the providers of plants, cakes and items for sale or items for the games. To all the people who helped with the logistics and transport for the day.

And grateful thanks to the many who attended and supported the event and made the day so successful. We anticipate that around £3500 was raised for church funds.

Thank you everyone, especially to Sally for coordinating the event, to Holymoorside Band for entertaining us so well and to our hosts, Mr and Mrs John Hayes for allowing us to use and share their beautiful garden.
