Reminder of the Lent 2007 Courses at Old Brampton and Barlow
During Lent there is the opportunity for you to join a Lent Group which will be following a new course for Lent 2007 entitled, ‘Can we build a better world?’
This course celebrates the work and faith of William Wilberforce, pays tribute to his achievements in combating slavery 200 years ago, and hopefully enables us to draw inspiration from his life. Like William Wilberforce, we live in a divided and hurting world. As Christians in the 21st Century can we, - together with others of good will - build a better world?
The course includes booklets and contributions on CD from Archbishop John Sentamu, Leslie Griffiths - (Lord Griffiths -
Minister of Wesley’s Chapel in London) and television actress Wendy Craig. It is introduced by Dr David Hope, former Archbishop of York, and includes reflections by five Sisters of the Poor Clares from BBC TV’s ‘The Convent’This will be in 5 sessions over 5 weeks as follows:
